A new coupling method for simulating combustion processes
Using DEISA research infrastructure Olivier Gicquel, his research team at the EM2C laboratory of the Ecole Centrale of Paris, and the IDRIS team at CNRS in France have developed a new method for simulating combustion processes that will have a real and practical impact on a number of industrial applications. New oceanographic models for ocean analysis and forecasting
Pierre Bahurel and his team from Mercator Ocean in France have, together with ESEOO in Spain, developed new oceanographic models that will help us to understand the evolution of the climate over the last decades and to provide an ocean analysis and forecasting service on a daily basis. Membrane fusion and the SNARE protein complex
Utilizing DEISA computing resources, Marc Baaden, his research team in Paris, France, and colleagues from France, the United Kingdom and Austria, have modeled a protein complex that acts as a catalyst in the fusion of two membranes. This exceptionally complex model could not have been constructed without the distributed European computation capacity offered by DEISA. Understanding the functioning of proteins will open up new opportunities for pharmaceutical development. (5.11.2007) Read more and download the article in rtf format.
