How to get around in Italy, Bologna and Casalecchio
Attendees asking DEISA for travel refund must use economy class tickets.
By air
The "Guglielmo Marconi" Airport of Bologna is 10 km from Bologna's downtown.
From the airport, taxis are the best choice to reach CINECA. A taxi from the airport to CINECA takes less than 15 minutes and costs about 20 euros. Usually taxis accept cash, quite few accept Credit Cards.
Otherwise, although it takes longer, you can take the ATC Aerobus shuttle, which goes from Marconi airport to the central station of Bologna and from there use trains or buses (see below).
By train
Also form the Central Station of Bologna, you can proceed by taxi, which will take around 20 or 30 minutes.
Alternatively you can use the Suburban train line (direction Bazzano), which leaves at 15 minutes past each hour from platform 7 Ovest (West). The ticket is a normal ATC (Bologna's Public Transport Agency) hourly ticket which can also be purchased at the platform.
"Ceretolo" is the stop closest to CINECA. Coming out of the station, turn left on Via del Lavoro and go about 500 meters. The first street on the left after the first highway bridge is Via Magnanelli.
By bus
From the center of Bologna you can take bus number 20 and get off at the terminus, which is approx. 2 km from CINECA. It runs quite frequently, about ever 15 minutes. Other bus lines can get you a little nearer.
For details build your own trip plan using the web tool of the ATC: just fill the "from" field with any address in Bologna and the "to" field with the CINECA's address (see above).
By car
Form exit Bologna-Casalecchio of the A1 highway , immediately on the right follow the direction for Bologna and then Porretta, continue keeping your right and follow the signals for CINECA, this is the path:
Form the Bologna highway "Tangenziale" follow the direction for Firenze, take Exit 1 (see in the above map near the middle of the top side), follow the signals for Bologna, then Casalecchio and Porretta and finally join the path above following the signals for CINECA.
Hotels
Attendee asking DEISA for refund of living expenses have a number of room reserved at the Millennium Hotel (via Boldrini 4, Bologna).
Millennium Hotel is near the railway station so one can easily use taxi or train to reach CINECA.
Other people can use Millennium Hotel as well, or any other Hotels in the neighborhood of CINECA.
