How to get around in Finland, Helsinki and Espoo

By air

Helsinki-Vantaa International Airport, located about 20 km from Keilaniemi, Espoo, is easily reachable from the main European cities. The average driving time between the airport and Espoo is 30 minutes. Finnair city buses run between the airport and the city center every 20 minutes.

A taxi journey from the airport to Keilaniemi, Espoo or to the center of Helsinki takes nearly half an hour and costs about 30 euros. Taxis accept cash, bank cards and the most common credit cards. At the airport, taxi stations are right outside the Arrivals Halls of the domestic and international terminals. Service desks for the taxi operators can be found in Arrivals Halls 1 and 2.

By sea

There are regular ship lines to Helsinki from Stockholm, Sweden, from Tallinn, Estonia and to Hanko (130 km west from Helsinki) from Rostock, Germany.

Public transportation in the Helsinki and Espoo area

The easiest way to keep you on the map and find the fastest route from A to B is to click on the website of YTV

(the official administrative organ on public transportation).

CSC can be reached from the Helsinki city center by buses departing from the main bus station (Kamppi). With buses number 102 and 103 the journey takes about 15 minutes. The price of a ticket including free transfer between lines within 80 minutes is 3,60 euros. A regional tourist ticket for one day costs 10 euros and for three days 20 euros.

You can also take a taxi from the Helsinki city center (driving time about 15 minutes, cost approximately 20 euros).
