All these simulations are being performed on the most powerful computers in the world. The more powerful these supercomputers and the more efficient the software, the closer to reality are the simulations. Many of the urgent scientific questions can be studied and answered with the help of increasing supercomputing capability.

DEISA - Distributed European Infrastructure for Supercomputing Applications - is a virtual European computer centre that operates a joint European High- Performance computer infrastructure to support research and technological development in Europe. With DEISA leading European Supercomputing centres are providing the necessary computing power for advancing science in Europe.
